Project Management: The Process for Leading Successful Projects

The purpose of this course is to introduce you to the basics of project management. In the course, you will learn about project management processes and how they serve to strategically organize and execute a series of tasks required to accomplish a project goal. Project management skills, techniques, and tools will help you and your team complete the project efficiently and successfully.

Goals

Learning Objectives:

  1. Group key project features into five phases: initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, and closure.
  2. Identify best practices for activities outlined in each project management phase.
  3. Categorize individual team members into specific roles for a project.

Penn State is a Pennsylvania Department of Education non-credit Act 48 approved provider. Upon successful completion, participants can earn .25 hours toward fulfilling their Act 48 requirements by participating in this course and completing all activities. Be sure to complete the evaluation at the end of this course and indicate if you seek Act 48 credits.
